Global Graphics extends system integrator agreement with NTL

Global Graphics (NYSE-Euronext: GLOG) has extended its existing system integrator agreement with Nippon Techno Lab., Inc. (NTL) to integrate the Harlequin® Host Renderer software development kit (SDK) into NTL’s high-performance, multi-platform Mistral print server. The contract extension allows NTL to utilize multiple Harlequin RIPs to develop RIP servers for high speed digital print devices.

The Harlequin Host Renderer SDK provides high-performance components with which to build RIP farms for digital production presses and other host-based Page Description Language (PDL) rendering solutions. Harlequin RIPs process PostScript®, PDF and XPS natively in one RIP engine and one of the advantages to NTL is that they can freely select which PDLs to support.  The RIP’s scalable architecture means it is highly adaptable to drive a variety of devices, an important consideration for NTL because they customize Mistral for each implementation.

NTL plans to offer a range of Harlequin options to its Mistral print server customers including color management using ColorPro™, trapping via TrapPro™ and screening using Harlequin Dispersed Screening™.
